This article explains how to complete a questionnaire on Delta eSourcing – for example a Selection Questionnaire (SQ), Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ) or a tender questionnaire – including how to handle mandatory fields that do not apply to your organisation.
Mandatory Fields and Using “N/A”
Important: If a question is marked as mandatory (*) but is not relevant to your organisation, you will still need to enter a value in order to proceed. For text fields, you can enter N/A to indicate the question is not applicable.
However, Post Code and Date fields require valid values and will not accept N/A:
- Post Code fields – if the country is set to United Kingdom, you must enter a valid UK postcode (e.g. EH1 1AA). The system will reject invalid formats.
- Date fields – you must enter a valid date in the format dd/mm/yyyy (e.g. 01/01/2025). Text values such as N/A will not be accepted.
Answering Questions That Do Not Apply
- If a section or question is not relevant to your organisation, you still need to complete the mandatory (*) fields in order to proceed.
- For text fields, enter N/A. For Yes/No questions, select the answer that applies (often “No”).
- Some questionnaires ask for details such as a parent company, addresses, dates, or people with significant control. Where these do not apply, follow the mandatory-field guidance above – remembering that Post Code and Date fields still require valid values.
Saving Your Progress
- You can save a questionnaire and return to complete it later.
- Check that each part or section shows as complete before you submit.
- A section may still show as incomplete if a single mandatory field has been missed.
If You Cannot Proceed or See “Errors on the Page”
- If the questionnaire will not let you continue, an unanswered mandatory (*) field is usually the cause – scroll up to find the field highlighted in red.
- Remember that N/A is not accepted in Post Code or Date fields (see above); enter a valid value instead.
- If you have answered everything but a section still shows as incomplete, re-check any Post Code and Date fields for valid formats.
- If you continue to have issues, contact the helpdesk.
