How to Create a Tender Exercise
This article explains how to create a new tender exercise in Delta eSourcing. A tender exercise is the container for your entire procurement activity, bringing together notices, questionnaires, tender boxes, and supplier management in one place.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
- The role of Buyer Administrator, Buyer Supervisor, or Buyer Registered User
- Details of the procurement you wish to set up
Step 1 – Start a New Tender Exercise
- From the main menu, go to Tender Exercises.
- Click Create Tender Exercise.
Step 2 – Enter the Details
- Enter a Tender Exercise Name (required, max 255 characters).
- A Contract Reference Code will be auto-generated, but you can edit it.
- Enter an optional description of the procurement (max 400 characters).
Step 3 – Configure the Exercise
Choose which components to include:
- Tender Box – Select the type (e.g. ITT) or choose "No Tenderbox required" if you only need an SQ.
- Selection Questionnaire (SQ) – Toggle on if you want suppliers to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire.
Step 4 – Save and Continue
- Click Save to create the tender exercise.
- You will be taken to the tender exercise dashboard where you can add notices, set up questionnaires, invite suppliers, and manage the procurement.
What to Do Next
Once your tender exercise is created, you can:
- Create and publish a notice to advertise the opportunity.
- Set up a questionnaire for supplier pre-qualification.
- Invite suppliers to respond.
- Configure the evaluation plan.
